Galvanized Line Posts

Galvanised steel washing line pole

Hot dip galvanizing is a process of coating steel or iron with a layer of zinc to protect it from corrosion. In this process, the washing pole is first cleaned and then dipped into a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 450°C (840°F). The zinc reacts with the surface of the metal to form a layer of zinc-iron alloy, which is bonded to the surface of the post.

The resulting coating of zinc provides excellent corrosion resistance to the washing pole, protecting it from the damaging effects of moisture, humidity, and other environmental factors. This makes hot dip galvanizing an essential finish on external mild steel posts to prevent rusting. Our powdercoated posts (painted black) are always galvanized first.

Hot dip galvanizing is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of protecting steel and iron from corrosion, as the zinc coating is durable, long-lasting, and recyclable. It also requires minimal maintenance, which further reduces its overall cost and makes it a popular choice for many industrial and commercial applications.

Galvanized washing line posts can be used as they are, powdercoated, or painting on site using hard wearing hammerite or similar metal paints. The galvanized finish is a dull silver/ metalic finish as pictured.

All our ground sockets are galvanized finish.
