Protect your ground sockets during the off-season with these simple black plastic caps. When a washing line pole or shade sail pole is lifted out for the winter, the empty socket is left open to the elements - and a simple cap keeps it sealed until you need it again.

Left uncovered, an empty socket quickly fills with rainwater, leaves and grit. Over autumn and winter that trapped water can freeze, hold debris and leave you with a messy, corroded socket to clear out before you can refit your pole in spring. Push a cap into the socket once the pole is removed and you stop water ingress, keep the inside clean, and help guard against frost damage.
